Welcome! I’m Simon Meah, a friendly and patient driving instructor with a passion for helping you gain the confidence and skills you need to be a safe, independent driver. My focus isn’t just on getting you to pass your driving test, but on preparing you for life on the road. I work with learners of all levels, from beginners to those looking to polish their driving skills, ensuring you not only meet but exceed the required standards.
Every learner is unique, so I structure each lesson to suit your specific needs and learning style. Whether you’re nervous behind the wheel or need a more relaxed, steady pace, I adapt my approach to help you progress at your own speed. I specialise in supporting students who struggle with driving anxiety, offering a range of techniques and strategies to keep you calm and confident while driving. Together, we’ll make sure you’re not just ready for your test, but ready for a lifetime of safe driving.

I don’t just tailor each lesson to suit your individual needs — after you pass your test, I also offer a free ‘top-up’ session. It’s a great way to refresh your skills if it’s been a while since you passed, or to help you get comfortable driving your own new car.

Simon was an excellent instructor! Always wanted to get on with my driving instructor and he made me feel so comfortable in the car. I can say hands in heart I am not nervous at all about going on the roads now as he as taught me how to be a safe and confident driver.

Would highly recommend Simon, I am 60 years old and was extremely nervous about doing driving lessons but it’s something I really wanted to do. Simon instantly put me at ease from my first lesson and made me believe I could do it and here I am today, passed first time and feeling full confident all thanks to Simon.

I passed my test a while ago, but I’d always avoided motorways because I was too nervous. I was encouraged to speak with Simon about my worries, and after just a couple of motorway lessons, I felt much more confident. It’s really not as scary as you imagine. Simon is fantastic understanding, patient, and a great teacher.

When I came to Simon I had failed my driving test 3 times and lost all confidence in driving . He completely changed my mindset and understanding of driving. I was a very nervous driver and he showed understanding when I panicked, which I did a lot ! More importantly he helped me to understand why I was panicking and how to control my nerves . I cannot thank or recommend Simon enough , within 2 days of passing my driving test I had driven to Scarborough and back on my own - all down to Simon and his tailored, calm approach to teaching .

I would recommend Simon to anyone wanting to learn to drive, he treats every student as their own person and uses a personalised style of teaching which really worked for me. He always thought of ways to improve my learning and understood me as a person. His standard of teaching really stood out to me compared to experiences I have had with other instructors.

Simon has been an absolute god send when it's come to learning to drive. As someone who's a bit older and has ADHD, I've always put mental barriers up when its come to learning to drive. I've been sat on my hands about this for over 10 years, anxiety building up for all that time. I had started lessons previously a few years ago... however it was a short, but horrendous experience and left it.
However, Simon has always been unequivocally himself, with his patience, knowledge and humour, it's made for a enjoyable learning experience, something that Ive genuinely looked forward to each week. Not only does he dispel the myths of driving, but once you have passed under the instruction of Simon - you will know how to drive properly and have the confidence to do so. Simon has been SO instrumental in my success and I'm so glad I found him.
If you're at all anxious, or feel you need someone who's kind, down to earth and has the patience of a saint- Simon is your man!!

Thank you for these very kind words Ben.You are right we have had a lot of laughs long the way.I had to sharpen my skills to help you with some new ideas on how things work and how to help you work them out.you went from a confused and none confident driver to an amazing driver that was also very good at reversing!I hope passing brings you the freedom you have wanted for so long(also not having to pick the faults of the Cab drivers)enjoy your freedom.

Fantastic driving instructor he worked with me every step of the way and found ways to work around my needs so that I understood the instructions , He also made me feel calm and at ease all the time, and even when I felt like I wanted to give up at times, he gave me the encouragement and support I needed not to give up this work because I pass first time . I struggle with dyslexia and also had secondary trauma which made my driving experience hard at times, but he helped me overcome everything every step of the way I would highly recommend Simon 🚗

After a few failed attempts with previous instructors I was lacking in confidence and was filled with test anxiety! Simon helped me overcome this and I managed to pass my test with just 2 minor faults😄 He is kind, patient and an amazing instructor! Thank you again Simon.😁

Thank you Amber i really enjoyed helping you achieve your licence. you lacked a bit of confidence in some areas when we met but we worked on those bit at a time. you really got on board and was open to new ideas which helped you start to understand what happened when you got nervous. we helped with those nerves when you set off on your test you went out and smashed it keeping those nerves in check.. see you on the road!

Simon is one of a kind. He has been patient and kind throughout all of my lessons. I started as a very uneasy learner with previous bad experience and he has gone out of way to ensure my comfort and confidence since day 1. He is kind and honest and I couldn’t recommend him more to any kind of learner(beginner or experienced) ! He has changed my life and I only hope you put your trust in him, as he will absolutely go above and beyond to help you in whatever way suits you. 11/10, 5 stars. Simon is an absolutely phenomenal instructor.
I struggled with manual for about a year and switched to Simon for automatic and passed with him in a much shorter timeframe. Not only that as a dislexic his knowledge with working with learning difficulties and disabilities is amazing.
Genuinely very grateful for what he provided me .
Thanks to Simon I not only passed with him but he also got me in contact with his friend hardeep who I then passed in a manual with.
I highly recommend Simon as he not only transformed my mindset and career but help me personally in many different ways .
Not to mention a very kind and supportive person

Thank you JoelI really appreciate this.when you found me for that trial lesson you were deflated and negative.in a few hours you raised that with help and time. there were new avenues,we made plans we changed the way you learn lesson by lesson to suit you.your confidence began to grow, some days were tough but you never gave up and always came back next lesson eager and ready to go.You went on to achieve a dream of driving with a first time pass. which was very well deserved

Brilliant instructor. Clear and calm, great communication throughout telling us regularly what to work on with him when we took him out to practise. Invited me to sit in and watch a lesson which was so helpful. My son passed first time with 3 minors -all down to Simon.

Thank you for the kind words.I really enjoyed teaching Joe we had some great fun learning and having parents sit in is a good experience for both the student and the parents.I was a bit of a special pass this one and i really hope he enjoys his new found freedom!I did give him a wave yesterday

I really enjoyed all my lessons, had loads of laughs as we got along very well, he is patient , understanding and will help you whenever is needed. Thank you Daisy.You made the lessons fun for me too!!! we will both never ever forget the cyclist.....You were an excellent driver from the very first lesson you settled in once you found your stride you took to driving very quickly.Reversing you took to very quickly it was like you had been practicing for years!!The snow delayed your pass but you got there. No doubt I will see you out on the road now enjoy the car of yours now you can move it off the drive.

Couldn’t recommend Simon enough. I was incredibly anxious and nervous about learning to drive but Simon was very calm and patient throughout my time with him. Made every lesson fun with some jokes and laughs, I always looked forward to our lessons.

We had many hurdles but you overcame everyone. you took away a lot from each lesson open to new ways and trying them out until you found the way that worked for you.
